May 21st -- Repeat Performance

We had such a great time yesterday, everyone voted to go back to McCooks for a repeat. So, let's meet at 11:00 AM again.

We'll plan on a similar day, one hour playing, an hour for lunch, then head down to the beach around 1:00 PM or so. I promise, I'll wear sunscreen this time to avoid the crispy nose I have this morning.

Items to bring:
  • lunch
  • toys for the beach
  • swimming suits
  • towels

McCook's Park May 14th -- 11:00 AM

It's just been too cold for me the last few mornings. Let's meet at 11:00 so that it's a bit warmer to start our day.

See http://www.lisrc.uconn.edu/coastalaccess/site.asp?siteid=60 for details about McCooks park -- this week's adventure.

We'll meet at the playground up on the hill, near the picnic tables, by the tall sets of slides. Hopefully that's detailed enough I won't get lost this time!

Plan on a picnic lunch and staying as long as the sun lasts. There are bathrooms, playgrounds, a beautiful beach and other stuff too. Wednesday's supposed to be warm and clear, but it's a bit windy at the park, so I'd bring a jacket too.

Harkness Memorial Park -- May 7, 2008

For directions and info for Harkness see: http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325214&depNav_GID=1650#map . I'm pretty sure we shouldn't have to pay parking fees tomorrow -- here's to hoping!

We'll meet in the parking lot marked with an 'X' at 10:00 AM. See the map below.

I've never been to the park, so I'd like to explore and see all there is to see. I'll also be planning on hanging out at the beach if possible -- we'll have suits and all the amenities as necessary.

Plan to bring a picnic lunch and sunscreen for a long day in the sun. The weather says it's supposed to be sunny and clear at 72 degrees. :)

Mohegan Park -- Wednesday, April 23, 2008

What a great time! We loved having all of you at the park yesterday -- here's the pictures:

For park address see: http://www.ctvisit.com/propertydetail.aspx?id=1634

Come and join us at 10 AM for a fun park day. Bring sunscreen, food, and plan to stay for hours! There are playgrounds and a large walking path to enjoy.

Bad weather back up will be at our house.

Visiting the Florence Griswold Museum

We visited the museum for their Winter Wonderment days. Great fun! They even had painting for the kids in addition to the exhibits and the tour of the home. For more musuem details see: http://www.flogris.org/
